Mamma always says that to maintain good health it is essential to follow a proper dietary routine. Besides eating real fresh foods for staying fit and healthy, she says it is also important to drink sufficient amount of water and fluids. If we do not consume the required amount of fluid our body becomes dehydrated and our physical performance suffers. Our teacher in school says the human body is composed of 60 % of water. Drinking water helps in maintaining the balance of body fluids. Drinking enough water every day helps us in many ways. It promotes digestion, absorption of fluids in the body, creating saliva, transporting nutrients, maintaining body temperature and maintaining an overall body balance.

Today I will tell you all about the benefits of drinking water for our physical and mental health:

1. Uplifts our mood: Drinking sufficient water helps in boosting our energy levels. It improves the concentration level and our mind becomes alert and active. Doctors say that mild dehydration can impact many aspects of brain functions leading to increased frequency of headaches, major reductions in memory and brain performance.

2. Flushes out toxins from the body: Water acts as a detoxifier as it helps in eliminating the toxins from our body through sweat and urine. It improves the functioning of our kidneys and decreases the chances of forming kidney stones.

3. Prevents constipation: Drinking sufficient water helps in maintaining our digestive system and prevents constipation by regularising the bowel movement.

4. Keeps skin healthy: Water consumption helps in maintaining the moisture of our skin and provides the essential nutrients to the skin cells. Drinking an adequate amount of water helps in keeping our skin soft and supple, helps in delaying the signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines.

5. Helps in weight loss: Drinking sufficient water helps in weight reduction by boosting our metabolism. Taking a glass of water before meals decrease appetite, thus reducing the amount of our food consumption.

Drinking water also contains fluorine which makes our teeth stronger. Living beings cannot survive without water. It is important to drink water according to the requirement of our body. The amount of water requirement varies from one person to another. Mamma says the vegetables like lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and celery have very high water content. Water containing fruits includes oranges, strawberries, pineapple, watermelon etc. My doctor uncle advises drinking plenty of water every day. He also tells me to eat lots of fruits and vegetables along with other food so that I can become strong and stay healthy always.

There goes a saying ‘’time and tide waits for none’’. This suggests that time does not wait for anyone, it runs continuously. Time is precious and hence it should never be wasted. My mother always says time is priceless and we should utilize it in a fruitful way. She often says that time is more important than money because the money we spend can be earned again but time once went never returns to us. My father says it is important to value and respect every single moment of our life. That is why it is essential to practice regularity, continuity, and commitment to make the best use of it.

Value Time to Enjoy Rewards and Success:

Our teacher Miss Lydia says we should be very punctual and finish our day to day activities at the right time. If we want to achieve something good in life we need proper dedication, commitment and proper utilization of time. Time can give us happiness, money, and wealth. So, one who uses it in a positive manner enjoys rewards and success in life. To attain a more organized life we should learn to manage our time properly. If we allow too many thoughts to clutter our mind at the same time, then we fail to give full attention to the task at hand. So, we will take more time to finish it off. By learning to get our thoughts and worries out we can focus on the task at hand and achieve the desired outcomes.

Value Time to Avoid Dissatisfaction and Chaos:

If we do not learn proper time management skills then every planning collapses. Therefore it is extremely necessary to manage our tasks accordingly. If we prepare a timetable and follow it, then it becomes much easier to manage our day’s task without any extra efforts. Nobody can escape the consequences of passing time recklessly. As human beings are mortal creatures and prone to aging by making a wise use of the time we can earn experience and refine our skills over a period of time.

My parents always stress the importance of waking up early in the morning, eating food on time, doing my studies in time and going to bed early. They also encourage me to pursue my hobbies, play with friends, read storybooks and do all other things I like to do. They say that to concentrate better we need to have a relaxed and calm mind and a healthy body. They also maintain an organized routine and punctuality which inspires me a lot to follow them. Now, I follow a proper timetable which eventually boosted my morale and made me confident about myself. So in order to eliminate unnecessary hassle and chaos in life, we should always do all our work on time and never postpone our work for future.
