How are you? I am doing fine. I had a great weekend with mumma and dadda. We went out, played at the park and had some yummy food. Dadda treated me with strawberry ice cream since I did so well with my science project. My teacher was also very happy with the project.
After the science project, there is much more to do. We will be having a fancy dress competition in our school after two weeks. Our teacher said we can dress up as any character we wish to. We have to tell a short story about the character and act as well. Some of the children in our class said they will dress up like flowers, butterflies and my friend said she will dress like Barbie. But I want to do something different. I thought a lot about it, but couldn’t think of anything impressive.
I came back home and discussed it with dadda in the evening. He gave me an excellent idea. Dress up like a mermaid – Ariel! She is so beautiful, so graceful. Yes, I want to be like her. I want to swim in water and explore the sea. That’s a great idea! Mumma was also very excited by the suggestion. She said she will look at the online stores for mermaid dresses and she will get the prettiest dress for me. I said I want my hairs to be just as long and wavy as Ariel. Mumma said, ‘don’t worry I’ll take care of everything’.
What about the story? I don’t know any story about mermaids. Dadda said we will come up with something interesting, so there is nothing to worry. I want to be the best in class. Next day mumma found a very nice mermaid dress on an online store and she placed the order immediately. A beautiful wig was also there along with the dress. Dadda worked hard and came up with a nice story.
Once a prince was travelling in his ship and was struck by a storm. He could not balance and fell into the sea. A little mermaid, named Gabriel was nearby and saved the prince from drowning. The prince fell in love with the mermaid instantly. But she could not stay out of water! Then the prince said, he will trade his wealth and ask the sea witch to turn him into a merman. The witch granted him his wish and they lived happily ever after!
Wow, I never knew dadda could write stories as well. He is a genius; there is nothing dadda can’t do. Mumma and dadda will write a script for me which I will have to speak in front of the judges. I am sure they will do a great job. I have two weeks for preparing, so I will work hard and make sure I don’t forget anything when I perform on stage. I am a bit afraid, but I am sure I can overcome the fear. Hopefully I will look as pretty as Ariel in the mermaid dress!
