There is nothing better than a piece of chocolate. It uplifts my mood and makes me feel happy under any circumstances. The smooth texture of chocolates gives me a heavenly feel and its aromatic smell makes me feel good. Chocolates are made from the seeds of cocoa beans. It tastes sweet because a lot of sugar and milk are added for taste while making. My Mommy uses chocolates to make desserts like cakes, candy, pudding, ice cream and also for making Easter eggs. They taste wonderful and I am very much fond of eating chocolate desserts made by Mommy. Though it is often said by elders that chocolate eating is bad as it can spoil our teeth and health. But Mommy says that consuming chocolates in a moderate amount is beneficial for our health.

There are various types of chocolates such as milk chocolate, white chocolate, and dark chocolate. Each of them differs in their taste and making. According to my Daddy, dark chocolates have ingredients which reduce blood pressure and protects us from various diseases. Though I do not like eating dark chocolates much as it tastes a little bitter. He says that consuming a small amount of dark chocolate lowers the risk of heart disease as it has polyphenol in it. It is said that dark chocolates have a lot of benefits related to beauty. It is a skin-friendly ingredient that helps us to keep our skin healthy, glowing and flawless. Chocolates can help us release stress and it can provide us with a glowing skin by lowering the elevated stress hormones in our body. It stimulates our brain cells and helps us to relax.

Benefits of Eating Chocolates Regularly for Our Heart and Brain

My doctor aunt says that handmade chocolate is considered as healthier compared to the rest. They are packed with advantageous minerals such as potassium, zinc, and selenium. A 100gm bar of chocolate can provide us about 70 % of the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of iron. It has been proved that consumption of chocolates reduces the level of bad cholesterol while raising the level of good cholesterol. Thus, lowering the chances of cardiovascular diseases like blood clots, diseased vessels, and structural problems. The anti-inflammatory qualities of chocolates help in treating brain injuries.

Excessive consumption of chocolates leads to an increase in body weight and obesity. It is also not good for people who have diabetes. Eating chocolates can also cause cavities and tooth decay. Therefore after eating chocolates, we should always wash our mouth properly to avoid such situations.

Mamma always says that to maintain good health it is essential to follow a proper dietary routine. Besides eating real fresh foods for staying fit and healthy, she says it is also important to drink sufficient amount of water and fluids. If we do not consume the required amount of fluid our body becomes dehydrated and our physical performance suffers. Our teacher in school says the human body is composed of 60 % of water. Drinking water helps in maintaining the balance of body fluids. Drinking enough water every day helps us in many ways. It promotes digestion, absorption of fluids in the body, creating saliva, transporting nutrients, maintaining body temperature and maintaining an overall body balance.

Today I will tell you all about the benefits of drinking water for our physical and mental health:

1. Uplifts our mood: Drinking sufficient water helps in boosting our energy levels. It improves the concentration level and our mind becomes alert and active. Doctors say that mild dehydration can impact many aspects of brain functions leading to increased frequency of headaches, major reductions in memory and brain performance.

2. Flushes out toxins from the body: Water acts as a detoxifier as it helps in eliminating the toxins from our body through sweat and urine. It improves the functioning of our kidneys and decreases the chances of forming kidney stones.

The amount of water requirement varies from one person to another. Mamma says the vegetables like lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and celery have very high water content. Water containing fruits includes oranges, strawberries, pineapple, watermelon etc. My doctor uncle advises drinking plenty of water every day. He also tells me to eat lots of fruits and vegetables along with other food so that I can become strong and stay healthy always.
