twice brush in a day

Every morning after I wake up, the first thing I do is brush my teeth. Mumma tells me that this is a very good habit and a healthy habit. She also insists me to brush my teeth every night before going to bed. Brushing our teeth twice a day keeps our teeth clean. This helps in keeping our teeth and gums healthy. Mumma tells me that, we should always take good care of ourselves. We do not need to put any extra efforts for maintaining good health. If we take care of very small things and do them regularly, we can have a healthy body. Mumma told me about all the reasons why we should maintain a good and regular oral hygiene.

Here are the reasons why we should brush our teeth twice daily and maintain a healthy gum and teeth:

  1. Removes all the food particles from the teeth: Brushing our teeth twice a day helps in removing all the food particles hidden in our teeth. This is very much necessary to keep our teeth clean and healthy. This helps us in preventing them from decay.
  2. Reduces plaque and tartar buildup: Cleaning our teeth regularly and removing all the food particles present in the teeth prevents the bacterial build up inside our mouth. This reduces the plaque formation on our teeth which happens due to the accumulation of bacteria and food particles present in the mouth. If the plaque is not removed from our teeth, it hardens into tartar. Tartar is very difficult to remove from our teeth and often requires help from a dentist.
  3. Reduces the possibility of getting a tooth cavity: A tooth cavity is a form of tooth decay. Bacteria enters through the tooth cavity and reaches the tissues inside, which causes infection. A tooth infection is very painful for anyone to handle. Clean teeth and mouth reduces the possibility of getting a cavity in the tooth.
  4. Removes stains from teeth and keeps them white: The toothpaste that we use while brushing our teeth, helps in removing the stains on the teeth. Hence, we get healthier and shinier teeth.
  5. Prevents any gum disease and keeps it healthy:If we do not maintain a regular cleanup routine for our teeth, plaque forms on them. Plaque looks like a thin yellow layer on the base of our teeth. This causes inflammation of the gums which is very painful and eventually leads to bleeding through the gums.
  6. Reduces the chances of getting bad breath: If we do not brush our teeth properly, bacteria builds up inside our mouth. Excessive bacterial buildup gives us bad breath. So, to prevent this, we need to brush our teeth at least twice a day and maintain a fresh breath.
  7. Improves our overall health: Maintaining a proper oral hygiene keeps us healthy in many ways. It protects us from many diseases (diabetes, heart diseases, osteoporosis, premature babies and many more) which happen due to oral diseases.

I told Mumma that I should always maintain a healthy habit and keep my teeth clean regularly by brushing them twice a day. And, I also told her that I will tell all my friends to do the same.

Playing at Park

This Friday there was this story telling session at the school. The teacher was telling us all a story about a boy who used to spend most of his time playing video games. He was a lazy, fat boy who never wanted to play any other games outside at the park. He was addicted to playing video games.

After the story was finished, the teacher told us all, that we should not restrict ourselves to playing only video games. Addiction to video games makes us lazy. It damages our eyesight. It makes us interact very less with our friends, family and the people around us.Playing video games all day and not doing enough physical exercise makes us put on a lot of weight and makes us fat. The teacher also said that if we play video games excessively and get addicted to video gaming, it might harm our brain and reduce the level of brain development. I was very scared to know that.

We should go outside whenever possible and play with other children. As we are very small and we may not play any particular games, we should at least be running around with our friends. Playing outside is a way of exercising, which helps us in our overall physical development.

I was very excited to learn this as I am always very eager to grow very strong. The teacher also told us that playing outside increases our muscle strength and also helps us gain a lot of self-confidence. It improves our vision, physical well-being and our overall health. Everyone at my class was happy to know this. We all love playing outside with friends.

I told my teacher that my Mumma and Dada take me to park at the afternoon almost every day when the weather is good. I enjoy playing outside a lot.I enjoy it more when both Mumma and Dada play with me. There are even times when I play with my friends and the parents talk to each other. I like the fresh air outside. My teacher was happy to know this from me and she encouraged me to play more outdoors and at the park.

When I came back home from school, I told Mumma about the story that our teacher told us at the school. I also told her about what the teacher told us about the reduced level of brain development. Mumma told me that this is why both by Mumma and Dada do not let me play too much with the phone or the tab. I asked Mumma, why she always thinks well about me. She told me that because I am her daughter and she loves me the most in this world, she cares for me the most. So, she does everything which is good for me. She does things which would help me in the long run when I grow up. I hugged Mumma and told her that I also love her the most.
