Christmas is just a few weeks away and it’s time to bake some yummy cakes! Mumma bakes varieties of cakes every year and this year I decided to help mumma with her baking. After a lot of brainstorming we decided to make Reindeer cupcakes. Sounds yummy, right? Last year we went to a Christmas party and we had these yummy and delicious cakes, so we decided to make them at home this Christmas.
I invited some of my friends to my place in the evening and I’m going to surprise them with my baking skills. Dadda will also be very happy when he comes back home in the evening. So let’s start with our mission!
We gathered all the ingredients required to bake the cake. Here are the ingredients, if you want to make the Reindeer cakes at home:
• Betty Crocker Super Moist Cake Mix – 1 packet
• Egg – 3
• Vegetable Oil – ¼ cup
• Water – ¾ cup
• Betty Crocker chocolate icing – 1 tub
• Nestle Smarties
• Pretzels – 1 Packet
Mumma set the oven to preheat at 200°C and placed the cupcake moulds in a 12 cup tray. Then we mixed all the ingredients – cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil and water, to make a smooth cake batter. Once the batter was ready, I filled 1/3rd portion of each cupcake mould with the batter.
Mumma then placed the baking tray inside the oven and we baked for the cakes for about 20 minutes. Them mumma put a skewer inside on cupcake to check whether it was cooked or not. It came out clean, so she took out the baking tray and kept it to cool down.
The most interesting part starts now!
We took out the cupcakes from baking tray and placed them on the icing tray. Then with help of an icing knife I coated each cake with a generous amount of Betty Crocker chocolate icing. By the time I finished icing the cakes, mumma cut the pretzels in shape of antlers.
I pushed two antler shaped pretzels in each cupcake to make the reindeer antlers. Then I placed two same coloured Smarties for eye and a different coloured Smarties for the nose. We did the same to all the 12 cupcakes and finally we were done!
The reindeer cupcakes looked amazing! They were so nice that I wanted to eat them then and there, but I decided to wait for my friends and dadda.
Finally, all of them came home and they were really surprised that we did such a great work. Everyone praised us for baking such yummy and delicious cakes for them. Mumma made some more snacks and orange juice for us. We had a great time together!
I promised mumma I would help her bake the Christmas cake on the Christmas Eve and she readily agreed. Baking cakes is fun and I shared my experience with my friends at my nursery. They are very excited and prepared to try their hands at baking as well.
